Move the exact retryable shutdown manifest, typed root snapshot, terminal reporting, and native-window-last release out of GameWindow. Keep session and GPU convergence as hard barriers while reporting persistent physical callback cleanup without stranding dependent owners.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move live-session startup and its existing diagnostics into the typed Phase-9 owner. GameWindow.OnLoad now ends immediately after that phase, so no callback binding, publication, or allocation can occur after the session becomes active.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move the complete update/render construction graph into a typed Phase-8 owner, explicitly carry the content dependencies it consumes, and publish both roots through one exact lease. Extract lifecycle resource sampling and frame-owned late bindings so partial startup and shutdown withdraw the same generation without window callbacks.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move the live-session reset and routing graph, combat and diagnostic command targets, and the sole gameplay input subscriber into Phase 7 before frame publication. Add exact retryable ownership for late bindings so partial startup cannot strand session or component teardown edges.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move streaming, live-session, hydration, local-player, combat, and teleport construction behind the typed Phase-7 boundary. Add exact-owner runtime bindings and focused spawn-claim classification so partial startup rolls back without retaining old session targets while preserving the accepted construction and frame dependencies.

Move Region/environment, mandatory modern rendering, terrain, WB, texture, and sampler construction behind the typed Phase-4 composition boundary. Give every fallible GL constructor prefix retryable ownership so partial startup failure cannot leak or replay resource deletion while preserving the accepted render path and DAT inputs.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Give terrain, sky, retained UI, portal preparation, and the update/render frame pair explicit single owners. Make shader, texture, text, bindless, and GL construction prefixes checked and retryable so partial failure cannot lose or replay resource ownership.
Co-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move camera pointer, framebuffer resize, and retained/devtools input edges behind focused reversible owners. Preserve input priority while making shutdown deactivate callbacks before live-session retirement and retry physical detach without stranding transport teardown.
Move the DAT sky, selected day group, world clock, weather, AdminEnvirons bridge, and debug cycles into a one-shot WorldEnvironmentController while preserving GameWindow's public aliases and accepted startup/session/render order. Correct the named retail citations and register the remaining environment audio and fog/radar gaps.

Extract reset, selection, entered-world, and route construction behind LiveSessionHost while preserving the sole LiveSessionController authority. Retain partial route and subscription cleanup for retry, and replace the embedded ACE-only shortcut with the exact named-retail unsigned skill formula.

Record the clean Release, lifecycle, soak, and framebuffer gates for Slice 7, advance the structural program to Slice 8, and preserve the observed process-residency diagnostic gap as issue 232 rather than weakening its leak threshold.\n\nCo-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Move the accepted draw transaction and failure recovery behind typed frame-phase owners so GameWindow only supplies immutable frame input. Preserve retail draw order, make ImGui/bootstrap shutdown ownership explicit, and restore exact text-render GL state on failures.\n\nCo-authored-by: Codex <codex@openai.com>
Mark Slice 5G complete, record the 44 percent GameWindow reduction and origin-lifetime barrier, and advance the active ledger to deterministic and connected closeout.
Close Slice 5F in the execution ledger, update the milestone and roadmap measurements, and advance the active checkpoint to direct cutover and dead-facade cleanup.

Move Position, Vector, State, Movement, and equal-generation CreateObject routing out of GameWindow while preserving per-channel authority, ForcePosition acknowledgement, and motion-runtime ownership. Add adversarial authority and exact-wire coverage so reentrant updates and GUID reuse cannot publish stale state.
Record the shipped presentation owner, exact frame-handoff lifetime, retail short-frame behavior, current GameWindow metrics, and Slice 3 as the next structural boundary.
Record the measured GameWindow reduction, final review and test gates, durable selection/inventory ownership rules, and live animation presentation as Slice 2.

Define the read-only query and stateful interaction ownership boundaries, pin retail ordering and lifecycle invariants, and isolate the GUID-incarnation and pending-pickup defects as #230 and #231 before the mechanical cutover.

Close the completed M3 and portal observer gates, make the behavior-preserving GameWindow ownership campaign the explicit M4 prerequisite, and replace the stale extraction sketch with an implementation-audited sequence.

Add a canonical documentation map, modernize the public README, and align milestone, roadmap, architecture, issue, divergence, and session guidance with the July 20 baseline. Correct the far-teleport residual to issue #153, close visually accepted indicator and terrain-tiling work, record the remaining detail-overlay and build-warning debt, and deprecate the duplicate legacy bug ledger.

Restore the named-retail object update order across local, remote, static, projectile, animation, shadow, teleport, and effect lifetimes. Separate authoritative root commits from spatial rebucketing, preserve per-owner hook/FIFO ordering, and remove update-path allocations with exact lifecycle and residency gates.
Add deterministic conformance, adversarial lifetime, GUID-reuse, pending-cell, quaternion, timestamp, and allocation coverage. Release build is warning-free and all 6,446 tests pass with five intentional skips; retail, architecture, and adversarial reviews are clean.

Preserve canonical live-object ownership across Hidden transitions and remote teleport placement so effects, collision, streaming, and targeting remain synchronized.
Introduce LiveEntityRuntime as the canonical owner of each accepted server-object incarnation, stable local identity, timestamped state, parent relations, runtime components, and exactly-once teardown. Split logical registration from rebucketing so pending landblocks, equipment attachment, pickup re-entry, and GUID replacement reuse the same entity and effect owners.
Keep canonical materialized and visible target/radar views distinct, preserve retail leave_world versus exit_world semantics, gate root simulation while cell-less, and track transitional pre-Create F754 owners through delete and session reset. Remove stale-spawn rehydration and make GpuWorldState spatial-only for live objects.
Add lifecycle, generation, pending, unload, attachment, event-publication, local-ID, rollback, and effect-cleanup coverage; update architecture, milestones, memory, and the divergence register.

Parse the complete PhysicsDesc plus F754/F755 packets, correct every PhysicsState bit, and gate all nine retail update channels with generation-safe immutable snapshots. Preserve ForcePosition, teleport, placement, velocity, parent, pickup, delete, and same-generation CreateObject ordering from the named client.
Separate accepted logical lifecycle notifications from retained UI qualities, make GUID replacement and session reset clear every projection exactly once, and add packet, wraparound, malformed-input, parent FIFO, canonical-position, reconnect, and GUID-reuse conformance coverage.

Carry one complete cell payload with each streaming completion and publish visibility, physics, and render state on the render thread. Remove the obsolete post-readiness login reload that triggered a duplicate dungeon build.

Lifts 13 startup-time environment variables out of GameWindow.cs into a
single typed AcDream.App.RuntimeOptions record read once in Program.cs.
Behavior-preservation only — no live behavior change, no visual change.
Verified end-to-end against ACE on 127.0.0.1:9000: full M1 demo loop
(walk Holtburg, click door, click NPC, portal entry) plus DEVTOOLS
ImGui panels load cleanly.
Why: GameWindow.cs is 10,304 LOC and scattered Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable
calls were one of the structural smells called out in the new
"Code Structure Rules" doc. Typed options is the safest cut to make
first because the substitution is mechanical and parsing semantics
get pinned by unit tests.
What lands:
- CLAUDE.md: removed stale R1→R8 execution-phases line, replaced with
pointers to the milestones doc + strategic roadmap (the actual
source of truth). Tightened the "check ALL FOUR references"
section to describe WB as the production rendering base, not
just a reference. New "Code Structure Rules" section (6 rules)
captures the discipline we're committing to.
- docs/architecture/acdream-architecture.md: removed dangling link
to the deleted memory/project_ui_architecture.md.
- docs/architecture/code-structure.md (NEW, 376 LOC): rationale for
the 6 rules + 6-step extraction sequence
(RuntimeOptions → LiveSessionController → LiveEntityRuntime →
SelectionInteractionController → RenderFrameOrchestrator →
GameEntity aggregation). This PR is Step 1.
- src/AcDream.App/RuntimeOptions.cs (NEW, 100 LOC): typed record
with FromEnvironment(string) factory and Parse(datDir, env)
overload for testability. Covers ACDREAM_LIVE, _TEST_HOST/PORT/
USER/PASS, _DEVTOOLS, _DUMP_MOVE_TRUTH, _NO_AUDIO,
_ENABLE_SKY_PES, _HIDE_PART, _RETAIL_CLOSE_DEGRADES,
_DUMP_SCENERY_Z, _STREAM_RADIUS.
- src/AcDream.App/Program.cs: builds RuntimeOptions once, passes
to GameWindow.
- src/AcDream.App/Rendering/GameWindow.cs: ctor takes RuntimeOptions;
7 startup-cached env-var fields become expression-bodied
properties or direct _options.X reads; TryStartLiveSession,
audio init, legacy stream-radius branch all route through
_options.
- tests/AcDream.App.Tests/ (NEW project, 10 unit tests + csproj):
pins parser semantics — default-off bools, the literal "0"
gate for RETAIL_CLOSE_DEGRADES, the >=0 guard for
STREAM_RADIUS, null-vs-empty for user/pass, exact-"1" check
for diagnostic flags. Registered in AcDream.slnx.
Out of scope (per code-structure.md §4):
- Per-call-site ACDREAM_DUMP_* / _REMOTE_VEL_DIAG diagnostic reads
sprinkled through GameWindow (~40 sites). Rule 5 in CLAUDE.md
commits us to migrating these opportunistically as larger
extractions land, not in a bulk pass.
- AcDream.Core's project-reference to Chorizite.OpenGLSDLBackend.
Only the stateless .Lib namespace is used; tightening the project
reference is documented as future work in code-structure.md §2.
Build: green.
Tests: AcDream.App.Tests 10/10 ✓, Core.Net.Tests 294/294 ✓,
UI.Abstractions.Tests 419/419 ✓,
AcDream.Core.Tests 1073/1081 (8 pre-existing failures verified
against pre-refactor baseline by stash-and-rerun).
Visual verification: full M1 demo loop against ACE +Acdream login
including DEVTOOLS panel host load.
Next: Step 2 — extract LiveSessionController per code-structure.md §4.
