08b77e20a9 feat(ui) Campaign CA CA4 #431: server-authoritative raises — the optimistic layer is deleted
Some checks failed
CI / linux-portable (push) Successful in 3m30s
CI / windows-gate (push) Failing after 6m32s
CI / release (push) Has been skipped
Retail sends a raise and WAITS: one request in flight, the raise
controls ghost, and displayed state changes only when the authoritative
quality-change record lands (gmStatManagementUI @ 0x004F03F0 family,
pinned in docs/research/2026-07-10-retail-panel-behavior-pseudocode.md
§5, whose own conclusion names ApplyLocalRaise as the thing to remove).
The optimistic layer predates the inbound parsers — it existed so the
panel showed anything at all — and with CA2 delivering server truth it
became strictly harmful: against ACE, a wrong TrainSkill cost fails
SILENTLY, so the optimistic promote-and-debit could show a trained
skill the server refused with nothing to ever correct it.

Deleted: CharacterSheetProvider.ApplyLocalRaise + both spend helpers,
and LocalPlayerState's six optimistic mutators (ApplyAttributeRaise,
ApplyVitalRaise, ApplySkillRaise, ApplySkillTraining, DebitIntProperty,
DebitInt64Property) with their tests. Added: the one-in-flight latch in
HandleRaiseRequest, CharacterSheet.AwaitingRaise ghosting all raise
controls, and gate release on every authoritative quality signal
(attribute/character/player-property events unconditionally; vital
events only release-and-refresh while a raise is in flight, so regen
ticks stay out of the sheet-rebuild path). Panel unmount resets the
gate — retail's awaiting flag lives on the panel instance.

AP-73 NARROWS rather than retires: retail's release on a rejection that
produces NO quality change is statically unverifiable, and ACE sends
chat-only (Raise*) or nothing (RaiseSkill/TrainSkill) on failure; until
the CA5 live check, a silently-rejected request leaves the controls
ghosted until panel reopen — recorded with its observable symptom.

Also verified for CA4: the train button sends the DAT-exact TrainedCost
(ACE's silent exact-match rule), and there is correctly NO panel
specialize send — retail/ACE specialize only via the SkillAlterationDevice
item-use + confirmation round-trip, whose client seams
(SendConfirmationResponse 0x0275, the 0x028B WeenieErrorWithString chat
routing) already exist. Provider tests now pin the retail contract:
send-without-mutation, one-in-flight, release-on-record, release-on-
unmount, and the regen-tick rebuild guard. Full hermetic suite 15,327
passed / 0 failed.

5781895977 feat(runtime) Campaign CA CA3 #431: live derived-stat recompute — a raise is visible without a relog
Some checks are pending
CI / release (push) Blocked by required conditions
CI / windows-gate (push) Has started running
CI / linux-portable (push) Successful in 3m28s
The recompute half of #431, on the CA1 verdict that retail computes
derived values LIVE at inquiry (Set* writes raw; InqSkillBaseLevel
0x00592140 -> SkillFormula::Calculate 0x00591960 re-derive per call;
InqRunRate 0x00592800 runs every motion tick; UI notifications carry no
value and widgets re-pull):

- LocalPlayerState gains the SkillTable formula resolver — the same
delegate shape (and App-side implementation, RetailSkillFormula over
the loaded SkillTable) the PlayerDescription path already uses. An
attribute write re-derives every skill snapshot's cached formula
contribution; recomputing at the only write that changes the inputs
yields values identical to retail's compute-on-read at every read. A
freshly TRAINED skill unseen at login derives its contribution live
instead of defaulting to zero forever.
- The router pushes movement-skill totals down the SAME seam
  PlayerDescription uses (UpdateMovementSkillBase -> vitae/enchantment
recompute -> OnSkillsUpdated -> the App stats applier) after an
attribute update, and after a skill update for Run (24) / Jump (22)
only. This is what turns a Quickness raise into visible run speed
  mid-session; the server's own movement-packet echo
(HandleRunRateUpdate -> ApplyServerRunRate) remains the correcting
  authority.
- Vitals maxima needed no new plumbing: GetMaxApprox reads attribute
currents live and the vitals window binds getter lambdas re-read per
frame, so CA2's attribute fan-out completes that path. The character
  panel already subscribes to AttributeChanged/CharacterChanged.

Tests: router behavior test drives the real WorldSession events through
the real router and asserts the full chain (state write, live 160/2=80
re-derivation, movement push totals, and that a non-movement skill does
NOT push); the subscription-count contract now includes the two new
events; Core tests cover the fresh-train resolver derivation. Full
hermetic suite 15,335 passed / 0 failed.

65430d4c7c feat(net) Campaign CA CA2 #431: parse the inbound attribute/skill update family
Some checks failed
CI / linux-portable (push) Successful in 3m32s
CI / windows-gate (push) Successful in 6m22s
CI / release (push) Has been cancelled
The server's authoritative answers to a raise were dropped on the floor:
only the vitals pair (0x02E7/0x02E9) had parsers, so after any
RaiseAttribute/RaiseSkill/TrainSkill the client's stat model stayed
frozen at login's PlayerDescription — the root cause of #431's stale
derived skills and run speed. The GUI looked alive only because the
panel applies optimistic local raises.

New parsers with three-source-verified layouts (CA1 research doc §2.5/
§2.8): PrivateUpdateAttribute (0x02E3) and PrivateUpdateSkill (0x02DD —
the wire's ushort ranks + hardcoded adjustPP=1 pair and f64
lastUsedTime preserved exactly). WorldSession dispatches both as typed
events; LiveSessionEventRouter routes them into the J4 character owner's
LocalPlayerState like every other private update. The vestigial
PrivateUpdateSkillLevel (0x02DF) is deliberately unparsed — ACE has no
producer (verified).

OnAttributeUpdate now fans out to the derived-value observers, mirroring
retail's live-at-inquiry model (CACQualities::InqSkill 0x00592660 —
Set* writes raw, Inq* recomputes, notification carries no value): an
Endurance write notifies the Health AND Stamina vital observers (ACE
pushes only a Health record and its own comment says the client must
refresh both), Self notifies Mana, and every attribute write notifies
character-sheet consumers whose formula contributions just changed.
OnSkillWireUpdate preserves the login FormulaBonus — the wire record
carries no attribute contribution; CA3 replaces the cached field with
the live computation.

Also corrected while in the neighborhood: PropertyString.cs's comment
claimed opcode 0x02DD for PrivateUpdatePropertyString; ACE's enum says
0x02D5/0x02D6 (doc-only — nothing dispatched on either).

Conformance tests cover both layouts (including holtburger's golden
skill fixture with adjustPP=1), truncation/wrong-opcode rejection, the
Endurance/Self/Quickness fan-out contract, and FormulaBonus
preservation. Full hermetic suite 15,333 passed / 0 failed (one
load-sensitive transport flake observed on the first run, passed alone
and on the clean re-run — filed as #439 rather than chased).

cf2605fa4a fix(ui): #267 character panel reflects vitae/buffed skills and attributes
Retail CACQualities::EnchantAttribute (0x00594570), EnchantAttribute2nd
(0x00594670, already ported for #6), and EnchantSkill (0x005947b0) are the
three enchantment-composition functions the Character window's Attributes
and Skills tabs depend on. Primary attributes never reference the vitae
singleton in retail (only Attribute2nd/Skill do) — confirmed directly from
the decompiled function bodies, not assumed.

EnchantmentMath.GetMod gains requiredType/includeVitae parameters (default
to the prior behavior) so a numeric StatMod key collision across domains
(e.g. key=1 is both Strength and MaxHealth) can't leak a buff into the
wrong computation. Spellbook.GetAttributeMod/GetSkillMod and
LocalPlayerState.GetEffectiveAttribute/GetEffectiveSkill/
GetSkillVitaeModifier wire the retail chain through to the panel.
CharacterSheetProvider now reports the effective value as the main number
and CharacterSkill.CurrentLevel is no longer an alias of BaseLevel (this
also activates the previously-dead SkillValueColor buffed/debuffed row
coloring). CharacterStatController's footer-title parenthetical is cited
from gmAttributeUI::DisplaySelectionFooter_Attribute (0x0049d280) and
gmSkillUI::DisplaySelectionFooter_Trained (0x0049b860) +
SkillInfoRegion::GetVitaeModifier (0x004f0fa0): skills show up to two
segments (vitae's own contribution, then the buff-only residual), while
vitae-immune attributes show at most one; no parenthetical when the delta
is zero. The panel now refreshes on Spellbook.EnchantmentsChanged, not only
raw property/attribute updates.

Core goldens cover the user-reported 33% vitae example (303->203, "(-100)"
exactly), buff+vitae composition, and the attribute vitae-immunity finding.
Provider/controller tests cover the full row-click -> footer-title path and
live refresh. Full solution suite passes with zero failures.

84b7d2d7cd fix(ui): port live experience quality updates (#217)
Parse retail PrivateUpdatePropertyInt64 and route authoritative Total/Available Experience through both local-player projections so Attributes, the level meter, and Skills refresh together. Preserve the existing retail XP curve and right-align the Total XP value.

Close the user-confirmed item-give gate for #216 and record the named-retail/ACE/holtburger conformance evidence.

b7dc91a053 feat(ui): D.2b item interaction + retail cursors + live character sheet
Lands the codex-worktree D.2b stream plus the extraction the 2026-07-02
UI architecture review mandated before commit:

- ItemInteractionController: single owner of double-click use/equip/
  container-open, targeted-use mode (health kits), drag-out drop;
toolbar shortcut drags don't drop the real item. ItemEquipRules for
multi-slot (coat) coverage via equip masks.
- Cursor phase: CursorFeedbackController (semantic priority chain:
  drag > resize > window-move > target-mode > text) + RetailCursorCatalog
  (enums 0x27/0x28/0x29, hotspot 14,14; ClientUISystem::UpdateCursorState
0x00564630) resolved through the portal EnumIDMap chain by
RetailCursorResolver; RetailCursorManager applies dat cursor art to the
OS cursor. Register row AP-72 covers the OS standard-cursor fallback.
- Character window goes live: CharacterSheetProvider owns sheet assembly,
XP-curve/raise-cost math and the raise flow — extracted out of
GameWindow per Code Structure Rule 1 instead of committing the ~430-line
feature body there. Optimistic XP/credit debits go through eventful
  store APIs (new ClientObjectTable.UpdateInt64Property +
  LocalPlayerState.DebitIntProperty/DebitInt64Property) instead of raw
property-dictionary writes; register row AP-73 covers the still-missing
  raise ledger (#163).
- RetailWindowFrame: the shared nine-slice window mount recipe; the
character window uses it, remaining windows migrate via #164.
- Status-bar buttons toggle inventory/character windows; retail row-major
  backpack ordering; WorldSession.SendUseWithTarget + raise/train sends.

GameWindow shrinks 14,214 -> 13,877 lines despite the new features; the
sheet/raise logic is unit-tested in CharacterSheetProviderTests instead
of trapped in the god object. Build green; full suite 3,286 tests pass.

7da2a027d4 feat(player): #5 PlayerDescription parser — Stam/Mana via attribute block
Visual-verified — Vitals window now shows three bars (HP/Stam/Mana)
with live values. Closes ISSUES.md #5; ~95% reading on Stam/Mana
traced to active buff multipliers, filed as #6.

Why the rewrite

The first attempt (commit d42bf57) routed PlayerDescription (0x0013)
through AppraiseInfoParser, trusting a misleading xmldoc claim.
Live diagnostics proved the format is wrong — ACE source
(GameEventPlayerDescription.WriteEventBody) hand-writes a body
distinct from IdentifyObjectResponse's AppraiseInfo: property
hashtables gated on DescriptionPropertyFlag, vector-flag-gated
attribute / skill / spell blocks, then a long options + inventory
trailer. Vitals only arrive via the attribute block at login.
Holtburger's events.rs:220-625 has the canonical client-side
unpacker; this commit ports the early-section walker through spells.

What landed

  PlayerDescriptionParser.cs (new — 350 LOC):
Walks propertyFlags + weenieType, then property hashtables
    (Int32/Int64/Bool/Double/String/Did/Iid) + Position table —
each gated on a property flag bit, header is `u16 count, u16
    buckets`. Then vectorFlags + has_health + the attribute block
    (primary attrs 1..6 = 12 B each, vitals 7..9 = 16 B with
`current`), then optional Skill + Spell tables. Stops cleanly
    before the options/shortcuts/hotbars/inventory trailer (filed
as #7 — heuristic alignment search needed for gameplay_options).

  PrivateUpdateVital.cs (new — 95 LOC):
Wire parsers for the GameMessage opcodes 0x02E7 (full snapshot)
and 0x02E9 (current-only delta), per holtburger UpdateVital +
UpdateVitalCurrent. WorldSession dispatches each to a session-
level event the GameWindow forwards into LocalPlayerState.

  LocalPlayerState (full redesign):
VitalKind (Health/Stamina/Mana) + AttributeKind (six primary).
    VitalSnapshot stores ranks/start/xp/current; AttributeSnapshot
    stores ranks/start/xp with `Current = ranks+start` per
holtburger. GetMaxApprox computes the retail formula
        vital.(ranks+start) + attribute_contribution
where the contribution is hardcoded from retail's
SecondaryAttributeTable: Endurance/2 for Health, Endurance for
Stamina, Self for Mana. Enchantment buffs not yet folded in
(filed as #6). VitalIdToKind now accepts both ID systems
(1..6 wire, 7..9 PD attribute block); AttributeIdToKind covers
    primary attrs 1..6.

  GameEventWiring:
    PlayerDescription handler. Walks parsed.Attributes, routes
primary attrs (id 1..6) to OnAttributeUpdate and vitals
(id 7..9) to OnVitalUpdate. Player's full learned spellbook
also lands here. ACDREAM_DUMP_VITALS=1 traces every PD attribute
+ every PrivateUpdateVital(Current) opcode for diagnostics.

  WorldSession:
Dispatch chain re-ordered — the diagnostic else-if for
    ACDREAM_DUMP_OPCODES=1 was originally placed before
GameEventEnvelope.Opcode, which silently intercepted 0xF7B0 and
broke UpdateHealth dispatch when the env var was set. Moved to
the very end of the chain so it only fires for genuinely
    unhandled opcodes. (Diagnostic-only regression; production
launches without the env var were unaffected.)

Test deltas

  Added:
    - PlayerDescriptionParserTests (6 — empty header, full attribute
block, partial flags, post-property-table walk, spell table)
    - PrivateUpdateVitalTests (7 — fixture round-trip, vital ID
      coverage, opcode rejection, truncation)
    - LocalPlayerStateTests rewritten (20 — VitalIdToKind +
      AttributeIdToKind theories, Endurance/Self formula coverage,
      delta semantics, change events)
    - GameEventWiringTests for PlayerDescription dispatch (2 —
      end-to-end populate + spellbook feed)
  Updated:
    - VitalsVMTests rephrased onto the new OnVitalUpdate API.
  Total: 765 → 817 tests passing.

Diagnostics

ACDREAM_DUMP_VITALS=1 — log every PD attribute extracted,
    every 0x02E7/0x02E9 dispatch.
ACDREAM_DUMP_OPCODES=1 — log first occurrence of any unhandled
GameMessage opcode (now correctly placed at end of chain).

Visual verify

  $env:ACDREAM_DEVTOOLS = "1"
dotnet run --project src\AcDream.App\AcDream.App.csproj -c Debug

Vitals window shows three bars; HP at 100%, Stam/Mana at ~95%
(the gap is buff enchantments — filed as #6 with the holtburger
multiplier+additive aggregator pattern as the reference for the
  fix).

d42bf5735d feat(player): #5 LocalPlayerState — Stam/Mana wired through PlayerDescription
Closes ISSUES.md #5. The Vitals devtools window now draws three bars
(HP / Stamina / Mana) once the server sends the first PlayerDescription
(0x0013), instead of HP only. Built test-first per CLAUDE.md TDD rule —
16 new tests went red before the implementation went in.

New AcDream.Core.Player.LocalPlayerState (cache):
  - {CurrentStamina, MaxStamina, CurrentMana, MaxMana} as uint? — null
    until first received.
  - StaminaPercent / ManaPercent: 0..1 fraction or null when either
field is missing or max is zero. Clamps to 1.0 if current > max
(server can briefly report this during buff transitions).
  - OnPlayerDescription preserves any previously known good value when
an incoming field is null — partial profiles don't wipe state.
  - Changed event for future subscribers.

GameEventWiring.WireAll:
  - New optional 6th parameter: LocalPlayerState? localPlayer = null.
Existing 5-arg call sites still work; without the parameter the new
PlayerDescription handler still parses + feeds the spellbook but
    skips the cache update.
  - PlayerDescription (0x0013) shares AppraiseInfo wire format with
    IdentifyObjectResponse (0x00C9) per AppraiseInfoParser docstring,
so the new handler reuses the existing parser and pulls
    CreatureProfile.{Stamina, StaminaMax, Mana, ManaMax}.
  - Player's full learned spellbook also lands here (previously only
item-scoped Identify responses fed the spellbook).

VitalsVM:
  - Constructor adds optional LocalPlayerState? parameter (default null
    keeps every existing caller compiling).
  - StaminaPercent / ManaPercent now read through to LocalPlayerState
every access — no VM-side caching, so a server-side delta to the
cache surfaces next frame without any explicit refresh.

GameWindow:
  - Public readonly LocalPlayer field alongside Combat / Chat / Items /
SpellBook so plugins + future panels can bind directly.
  - WireAll call updated to pass LocalPlayer.
  - VitalsVM construction passes LocalPlayer so the existing
VitalsPanel automatically picks up the two new bars.

Test counts:
  - AcDream.Core.Tests: 550 → 561 (+11 LocalPlayerStateTests)
  - AcDream.UI.Abstractions.Tests: 23 → 26 (+3 VitalsVM through-cache)
  - AcDream.Core.Net.Tests: 192 → 194 (+2 PlayerDescription wiring)
  - Total: 765 → 781

Build: 0 warnings, 0 errors.
