Retail synthesizes NO shape for a shapeless object, so the fix is deletion,
not a corrected height formula.
CPhysicsObj::FindObjCollisions @0x0050f050 dispatches exclusively -- BSP xor
CylSphere xor Sphere xor nothing. The BSP branch leaves via an unconditional
`jmp 0x50f2b0` at 0x0050f19d and cannot reach the primitive branches; a
CylSphere-bearing object that survives its loop returns rather than falling
through to the Sphere loop; and with zero cylspheres, zero spheres and no
physics BSP, `0x0050f22f je 0x50f31b` branches straight to the epilogue,
returning the OK_TS seeded at `0x0050f13b mov edi,1`. CPartArray::GetRadius
(0x005180a0) and GetHeight (0x005180b0) are absent from the function's entire
call set -- Setup.Radius/Height serve attack cones, cylinder_distance and
MoveTo, never collision geometry. Disassembled directly from the PDB-paired
binary (GUID 9e847e2f-777c-4bd9-886c-22256bb87f32) rather than read from the
Binary Ninja text, whose ebp_1 aliasing in this function is visibly corrupt.
THREE copies were deleted, not one. The AP-22 register row cited
LiveEntityCollisionBuilder.cs and ShadowShapeBuilder.cs; the latter never
reads Setup.Radius at all, and the row omitted both
LandblockPhysicsPublisher.PublishStaticEntity and
LandblockPhysicsContentBuilder.PublishStaticCollision -- the second being the
only copy the headless host executes. Fixing just the cited site would have
left headless statics on the invented footprint.
The branch was unreachable dead code, not a live approximation. A sweep of all
5,935 Setups in the installed client_portal.dat -- validated by byte
accounting (5,935/5,935 records consumed with an exact 20 + 48*numLights
residual tail, zero unexplained bytes) and independently reproduced by the
production FlatCollisionAssetBuilder.FlattenSetup path -- finds 0 Setups
satisfying the guard: every Setup with Radius > 0.0001 carries at least one
CylSphere or Sphere, and all 1,294 genuinely shapeless Setups have Radius
exactly 0. Buckets: 678 cylsphere, 3,605 sphere-only, 358 BSP-only, 1,294
shapeless, 4,282 with Radius > 0.0001. Nothing loses collision because nothing
gained it, so no visual gate is required.
Tests, all sabotage-verified in both directions:
- InstalledSetupCollisionReachabilityTests (new, Content) -- the negative
claim plus five EXTERNAL positive controls, so a broken enumeration cannot
satisfy it vacuously. Inverting the claim reddens it; emptying the
enumeration fails on the controls at 0 != 5935 rather than passing.
- ShapelessSetupWithRadius_ProducesNoRegistration (new, App) -- restoring the
deleted block reddens exactly this fact and nothing else.
- Build_PropagatesExactStateFlagsScaleAndFullSeedCell -- re-hosts the state /
PWD-flag / seed-cell coverage that rode on the deleted fallback test, whose
fixture (a Setup with a radius and no primitives) cannot exist in the DAT.
Flipping a FromPwdBitfield bit reddens it; so does swapping SeedCellId for
the landblock id.
Also corrects ShadowShapeBuilder's retail-anchor comment, which claimed each
part's find_obj_collisions tests "CylSpheres + GfxObj BSP".
CPhysicsPart::find_obj_collisions @0x0050d8d0 tests ONLY the GfxObj physics
BSP; CylSpheres are a Setup-level array reached via CPartArray::GetCylsphere.
That comment was the written justification for the additive emission now filed
as AP-152, so it is corrected here even though AP-152 is not fixed here.
AP-22 retired with evidence; AP-152 filed (live path emits primitives AND BSP
parts additively where retail is exclusive -- 172 of 5,935 Setups including
BSP doors; deliberately not folded in, it needs its own visual gate). Issue
#330 filed: the headless host registers no live-entity collision at all, a
pre-existing gap this survey established and nothing tracked.
Gates: Release build 0 errors / 0 warnings. Complete solution suite
11,195 passed / 4 skipped / 0 failed (baseline 11,193/4/0 at bcb66ccd; +1 App
for the added fact, +1 Content for the reachability test; the replaced test is
net zero). No new skips. Headless.Tests 89/89 exercises the site-3 copy.

Make prepared flat BSP data authoritative for gameplay while retaining the parsed graph only as an exact sampled referee. Fail production publication when collision package data is genuinely absent, keep idempotent already-cached publication valid, and move cell membership, floor lookup, camera diagnostics, and live/static shape bounds onto the flat representation.
Validated by 8,402 Release tests, a strict dense-Arwic connected gate with 46,309/46,309 exact referee matches, and graceful shutdown.

Root cause (live capture #3 + code): GameWindow's per-part landblock shadow
registration used a synthetic part-id `entity.Id * 256u + partIndex` that
OVERFLOWS uint32 for class-prefixed landblock ids (0x40/0x80/0xC0...). The << 8
drops the prefix byte, so different-class entities sharing the low 24 bits
collide on ONE shadow part-id and Register's deregister-then-insert silently
overwrites one entity's collision geometry. Landblock 0xF682 had 23 such
collisions incl. the stair runs (0xF6822100 <- {0x40F68221, 0xC0F68221}, ...),
so 3 mid-staircase steps rendered but had no collision -> the player floats into
the hole and the (faithful) PrecipiceSlide wedge fires = the 'invisible wall
half-way up the stairs'.
Fix (Option A, retail-faithful): register each multi-part landblock entity via
ShadowObjectRegistry.RegisterMultiPart under its UNIQUE 32-bit entity.Id
(retail CPhysicsObj::add_shadows_to_cells 0x00514ae0 -> CPartArray::AddPartsShadow
- one object, a part array; no synthetic per-part id). New testable builder
ShadowShapeBuilder.FromLandblockBspParts decomposes each MeshRef.PartTransform to
local pos/rot/scale; RegisterMultiPart reconstructs the identical world placement.
Building shells stay excluded (building channel); the Setup cyl/sphere path is
unchanged (runs only when entityBsp==0, retail BSP-xor-cyl dispatch). Despawn is
landblock-scoped (RemoveLandblock by cell prefix), so the id change is safe.
Tests: ShadowRegistrationOverflowTests (overflow arithmetic; old scheme drops one;
RegisterMultiPart keeps both; builder). Issue185OutdoorStairsSeamReplayTests
(dat-free clean-climb pin). Core 2629 / App 741 green, 0 warnings.

The Facility Hub double door (Setup 0x02000C9D) embeds the player into
the visual panel from one side and blocks with a phantom slab on the
other: its Setup PLACEMENT frames pose the two panels AJAR (yaw
-150/-30 deg, 0.44 m behind the doorway plane — dat-confirmed by the
Issue175 inspection) while the rendered door poses them CLOSED from
the wire-supplied motion table via the sequencer. ShadowShapeBuilder
read placement frames, so the 1.66x0.29x2.95 m physics slabs
registered at the ajar pose. Retail tests each part's LIVE
CPhysicsPart pose — for an idle door, the motion table's default
(closed) state.
Fix: ShadowShapeBuilder.FromSetup gains partPoseOverride (BSP part
shapes only); RegisterServerEntityCollision derives it from the spawn
MotionTableId via GameWindow.MotionTableDefaultPose (default style ->
first cycle -> LowFrame part frames). Null/short poses fall back
per-part to placement frames — table-less entities and landblock
statics unchanged. One-shot snapshot vs retail's per-frame live pose
is register row AP-84 (equivalent for the door lifecycle: closed ==
default pose; open == ETHEREAL bypasses collision, #150).
Pins: FromSetup_PartPoseOverride_ReplacesPlacementFrames /
_NoOverride_KeepsPlacementFrames / _ShortOverride_FallsBackPerPart.
Suites: Core 2539 / App 713 / UI 425 / Net 385 green.

Setup.Spheres were previously coerced to short cylinders (CylHeight=2*r),
which is geometrically wrong: a cylinder has flat caps; a sphere does not.
This ported CSphere::intersects_sphere (0x00537A80) so sphere-typed shadow
entries are tested as spheres — 3-D distance, no height clamping.
Changes:
- ShadowObjectRegistry.cs: added ShadowCollisionType.Sphere (enum value 2).
The BuildFloodSpheres anyCyl dedup at :232 is unaffected: only Cylinder
sets anyCyl=true; Sphere shapes fall through to the BSP-fallback path
(anyCyl=false → included), which is correct.
- ShadowShapeBuilder.cs: FromSetup now emits ShadowCollisionType.Sphere
(CylHeight=0) for Setup.Spheres instead of a short Cylinder.
- CollisionPrimitives.cs: added SweptSphereHitsSphere — quadratic swept
solve ported from ACE Sphere.cs::FindTimeOfCollision, which is a C# port
of retail's CSphere::intersects_sphere @ 0x00537A80. Sign convention
confirmed against the decomp: retail negates the root to produce a
forward t ∈ (0,1].
- TransitionTypes.cs: added Sphere narrow-phase branch between BSP and
Cylinder in FindObjCollisionsInCell; uses 3-D distance for overlap
(not XY-only). Added SphereCollision() method implementing the 3-D
wall-slide response. Updated diagnostic logging at :2734 to cover Sphere.
- Updated ShadowShapeBuilderTests for new Sphere type assertion.
- New SphereIntersectsSphereConformanceTests: 9 geometrically-anchored
cases (head-on, tangent, perpendicular-miss, lateral-near-miss,
sweep-away, beyond-step, degenerate-zero-sweep, already-overlapping,
vertical-sweep).
Retail oracle: CSphere::intersects_sphere @ 0x00537A80 (named-retail);
ACE Sphere.cs::FindTimeOfCollision (C# port, cross-confirmed).
Build: 0 errors, 10 warnings (pre-existing).
Tests: 1576 pass / 0 fail / 2 skip (1578 total).

The new value type collided with DatReaderWriter.Types.Frame (used in
physics-adjacent code like ShadowShapeBuilder), which the structural fix
(per-file using-aliases across 6 files) would have re-incurred in every
later physics slice. Renamed the TYPE to CellFrame; the Position.Frame
MEMBER keeps retail's name. Restored the 5 alias-only files to their
pre-Slice-1 state; synced spec + plan. Core 1522 passed / 0 failed.

Introduces the two value types (Frame, Position) that represent retail's
cell-relative position pair (acclient.h:30647/30658). Types are unused
by consumers yet — zero behavior change. Also ports LandDefs::get_block_offset
(pc:69189, @0x0043e630): world-meter offset between two named landblock ids,
the ONLY cross-cell translation primitive in retail physics. Conformance tests:
same-landblock→Zero, south-neighbour→(0,-192,0) (the exact #145 cascade cell),
east-neighbour→(+192,0,0), diagonal→(+192,+192,0). 4/4 pass; full Core suite
1522 passed / 0 failed. DatFrame alias added to 4 files that had using
DatReaderWriter.Types + using AcDream.Core.Physics in scope simultaneously.

Pure function translating Setup -> IReadOnlyList<ShadowShape>. Walks
CylSpheres + Spheres (only when no CylSpheres) + Parts (only when the
GfxObj has a non-null PhysicsBSP), using PlacementFrames in the same
Resting -> Default -> first-available priority as SetupMesh.Flatten.
Six tests pin the behavior: door setup produces 4 shapes (0+1+3), sphere
local offset matches Setup data, parts without BSP are skipped, creature
setups with CylSpheres skip Spheres, scale factor multiplies all radii
and offsets, empty setup returns empty list, null setup throws.
No callers in this commit; RegisterMultiPart + the GameWindow callers
follow.
